CVO offers educational opportunities for university students. At CVO students conduct apprenticeships, literature study or research towards their (under) graduate degree. Furthermore, CVO staff has taken care of courses and workshops at Utrecht University.
CVO graduates come to the research profession with extensive knowledge of research on substance use and addiction. They find employment in the field of drug prevention, treatment, care and policy, in education, research and the social sciences.
Apprenticeship and graduate work Master degree students are invited to submit their own ideas for research projects at CVO. These ideas must fit in the CVO research areas. They can also join running CVO projects. All arrangements must be made in consultation with your department’s study coordinator.
Recent examples of graduate projects and literature studies include:
. | Surinamese users in drug treatment and care facilities |
. | Criminal Moroccan street corner youth |
. | Cannabis use in the Basque Country |
. | Use of ibogaine and ayahuasca in therapeutical settings |
. | Gabbah girls at large-scale dance events |
. | Ecstasy and neurotoxicity |
. | (Un)safe use of smokable cocaine |
Training and employment opportunities CVO regularly conducts large-scale social scientific research. For these projects we continually look for students who help to collect, process and analyse research data. These concern paid activities. Students are provided with on the job training and supervision in data collection, processing and analysis. In consultation with your department’s study coordinator, participation in a CVO project can serve towards study credits.
